Splitting

Splitting means the separation of component through its length. It gives reasonably required uniform thickness.

Purpose of Splitting 

1. To make a leather with uniform thickness.
2. To make a leather into several layer.
3.  To aid construction.

Process Control

1. Check the bend knife, whether it is in proper position.
2. Ensure that the bend knife is sharp enough and the width of the knife is above 15 mm.
3. Choose the right guide roller to set the required thickness.
4. Choose the right speed of feeding.
5. Check the grinding stones, it should not be in contact with knife while starting the machine.

1. Bend knife- To split the material.
   
2. Feed  roller-Used to feed the materials
   
3. Upper roller or guide roller
4. Knife sharpening unit/ Grinding wheel- To sharp the knife.
   
5. Feed roller releasing pedal- Used to release feed roller
   
6. Scrap  extractor- To keep scrap
   
7. Dust extractor- Dust holding
   
8. Blade viewer
9. Speed switch- To control speed of the machine
   
10. Main Switch- To ON/OFF the machine
    
11. Thickness gauge( external part)
