Song of Skins

I'm not sick but small and thin,
So my name is 'Master Skin'.
If I were big, fat and strong
Like my brother, bold and young,
My name would be 'Mister Hide'.
And my two halves 'Mister Sides'.
When off my wools and all my hairs,
Free from flesh, vein, like seed bare,
I get a new name, 'Mister Pelt'.
Early stage of 'Upper' and 'Belt'.
If you want to change me further,
Tan me thoroughly to get 'Leather'.
Shape me to shoes to fit your feet,
Which I protect from cold and heat,
Hate me not dear, but please think
I'm your dearest 'outer coverings'.
