After the transfer of the tanneries from Hazaribagh in the capital to Savar, the economy here was stagnant.  As the raw material of the animal stopped processing due to the relocation of the factory, the skin of the laborers here also declined, as was the case in the economy.  Hazaribagh economy is now awakening in a new way.  Leather goods market is growing in old tannery villages.  The market for various types of products, including leather belts, wallets, shoes, parts, official bags, has developed.  The owners of the tannery industry relocating to Savar are also focusing on establishing a leather goods factory around their factory premises.  As a result, several hundred shops, showrooms and small leather goods factories have been established.  From here, these products are being supplied all over the country including various markets of the capital.  As a result, the economy of Hazaribagh has begun to recover again.

Upon inspection, it was found that from Hazaribagh Tannery intersection to Leather College, Hazaribagh Bazar, Dhanmondi, number 7 busstand galleries were established in different places.  In these establishments, export quality shoes, bags, corporate quality leather products and general quality products are also being sold there.  Concentration of people has increased in these areas.  As a result, all kinds of shops are also being developed.

According to the findings, the entrepreneurs here claim that the leather products that are being sold here are being sold at double the cost of brand marketing of the same market.

Sanjid Hasan Raju, entrepreneur of the Kestalia Show Room located at Hazaribagh Maneshwar Road, told Jugantar on Saturday that the showroom of at least five leather goods had been set up on the road.  Particularly after the relocation of the tanneries, the dirt and odor has been removed.  Because of this, good showrooms have developed in the area.  According to him, many leather products are being exported to Japan.  This product is also available here.  Besides, laptop bags, wallets and various used leather products and gift products are also being provided in many large corporate houses.  For the common people, leather products are available here, starting from shoes.

After going to multiple showrooms here, a belt is being sold for Tk. 3-5, boys 'shoes are at Tk. 5-24, girls' bags are for Tk. 3-5 and the shoes are being sold for Tk.  According to the entrepreneurs, those belts are being sold in the market for Tk. 3200, boys' shoes are sold for Tk. 500- Tk.

Meanwhile, production costs for the sale of these showroom products have increased due to the relocation of the tannery industry to Savar.  As a reason, they said chemicals and leather were being brought from Savar.  For this, additional transportation fares have to be calculated.

Meanwhile, the leather goods market in Dhanmondi No. 7 bus stand lane has relaxed a bit.  Explaining the reason, hundreds of leather goods are being sold in showrooms at Hazaribagh.  In many cases, export products are also available.  But in the name of the skin, synthetic was given away to the buyers.  Those buyers are now coming to Hazaribagh.

Hazaribagh businessman Alif Gardens president Enam Hossain Sayem told Jugantar that because of the shifting of the tannery industry, the leather goods market is slowly evolving here.  It is good from the commercial side.  Many products are being sold and sold at elite markets at high prices.
